Fresh Start

Well, I did it. I changed my ticker. I thought I was up about 20 pounds and I was right. But thinking it and facing the reality of it are two different things. I saw the 188 on the scale this morning and my heart plummeted. I was down to 164 in April. I’ve definitely gone in the wrong direction here.

I’m restarting today, still combining WW and SB. I need to relearn portion sizes and really figure out why it is that I’m eating what I’m eating. It’s just mindless and I’m not controlling it.

Something else I did was I took my measurements! Yay me, because this is something I haven’t ever really done. I’ve always focused on the numbers on the scale.

E: None, unless I can squeeze a little in while Baby J takes her nap tonight.

  1. Good luck… I can completely relate to your struggles. While I’m at most 20 pounds overweight, I have been battling my weight and food issues more than half of my life.   3. It looks like you have a plan and have decided to take action instead of not looking at the probem. The ole “if I don’t weigh myself it is real thinking” even though you really “know” there is a problem. We really think we are fooling ourselves but our real self really knows we are lying. This thinking can be so damaging because we are really living a lie.Good luck for a fantastic week back on track.

  5. Good for you for restarting. It’s so easy to say ‘oh, I tried it, it didn’t work, I’ll just have some cake and put my feet up. So congratulations on restarting and good luck.Portion control is my problem. Although writing down what you eat shows ‘what’ you ate, I find that photographing my food each day shows me ‘how much’ I’m eating, and sometimes it’s a shock.

  6. Well, it sounds like you are getting back on the right track. I found that journaling everything I put into my mouth every day has helped me so much. I also found working out first thing in the morning works the best for me. That way I have it out of the way and I will make no excused not to do it later. It also seems to keep my eating on track better throughout the day too. It is almost like I do not want to put that good workout to waste by eating crappy. Good luck on your journey!
